Hi-I’m Kailyn straube, cpd, nrp

I am the founder and sole doula of Gentle Roots Birth Care, providing evidence-based doula support and childbirth education to families throughout NWA.

My work centers on non-medical labor and postpartum support, informed decision-making, and collaborative care with healthcare providers. I support a wide range of birth experiences, including hospital, birth center, and home birth settings, and offer individualized care that respects each family’s values, goals, and circumstances.

With a background in emergency medicine as a paramedic, I bring a strong understanding of medical environments while focusing my work on supportive, client-centered care. After experiencing two births of my own—one of which was particularly challenging—I felt called to step away from clinical care and focus on helping families feel informed, supported, and advocated for throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

My Approach

I believe families deserve informed, compassionate support and advocacy that honors their choices and complements the care they receive from their healthcare providers.

My role

Care is personal and collaborative. I work closely with each family and alongside their healthcare providers to support informed decision-making and help clients feel prepared, supported, and confident in their care. My role is to offer steady presence, practical comfort measures, and thoughtful education that aligns with each family’s values and goals, without directing or replacing medical care.

my priority

As a solo doula practice, I prioritize continuity, trust, and meaningful connection. Clients receive consistent support throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, allowing care to be responsive, attentive, and tailored to their unique needs. This approach balances clinical awareness with compassionate presence, creating a calm, supportive space where families feel heard, respected, and cared for throughout their experience.
